Grave lutto questa mattina per la comunità di Rovato. Grave mourning this morning for the community of Rovato.
Un infarto è infatti costato la vita al presidente locale dell’Anpi, Gianfranco Cossandi. A heart attack is in fact cost the life to the local dell'Anp president, Gianfranco Cossandi. Cossandi, già direttore bancario a Perugia, era molto conosciuto in paese a causa della sua attività culturale a favore dei giovani e della diffusione dei valori della Resistenza. Cossandi, former bank director in Perugia, was well known in the country because of its cultural activities for young people and spread the values of the Resistance. Lascia la moglie Anna e il figlio Curzio. Leaves his wife Anna and son Curzio.
Impegnato da sempre in politica nell’area della sinistra, da un paio d’anni aveva ricevuto il testimone dell’Anpi dal partigiano rovatese Ferdinando Valzorio allargando il raggio d’azione dell’associazione alle giovani generazioni, in particolare ai bambini delle scuole elementari. I have just returned from beautiful concert of shared memory .. I do listen to 200 people Chiari children with their beautiful melodies have made happy, free, and all others who for one reason or another no longer participate in these initiatives.
This evening I have also filled the only known tune these days .. the sermon in church monsignor.

Even if one part completely different from that of Cossandi, I am very sorry for his death. was a piece of history and tradition of Rovato. a person who loves even rovatese of our culture, which has little to envy in other more celebrated.

Cara Anna, this morning I leafed through the book-beautiful memory of the trip organized dall'Auser Rovato: Ravenna-Rovinj.
There have crossed our lives, in those unforgettable five days of travel and meeting people, values, culture ..

We are among the priviledged to have known Gianfranco Cossandi. We wil always remember his kindness, his wit, his outlook on society and the warm hospitality he and Anna extended to us. We have continued to cherish their friendship over the years and will continue to fondly remember Franco.
