Maniva: a snow slavina moves away, 4 period of thirty years of Brescia dies
Tragedy on the mountains of the of Brescia one: on Sunday, around 16, one slavina has moved away over the step of the Maniva (Brescia), between the Valsabbia and the Valtrompia in resort Hump of the Cocks close to San Colombano del Collio, to the majority of duemila metres of height.
The snow has swept away 11 persons about ten snowmobiles: four have died, sects have been saved.
The victims are Andrew Brizzolari 30 years, Paolo Zanetti 25, Fausto Plodari 27, of Bagolino (municipality of the high Valsabbia), and Fausto Giusteri, 37 years, of Lumezzane (Brescia).
Everything has happened in few instants, around the 16. The victims were doing an excursion with the shelter Bonardi. The snowy mass that has swept away them, with a front of at least 200 metres, has come off from the mountain Maniva, and has beaten down on the group.
Some of the excursionists have managed to get rid from the snow immediately and have run to look for help for the shelter. There has been a mobilisation of the volunteers of the alpine Help, of watchful ones of the fire, carabineers, Cai, volunteers of the civil Protection and provincial police.
The persons recovered in life are in good conditions. The corpses have been recomposed to the Civil Hospital of Brescia.
POLEMICS - Luigi Casanova, mouthpiece of the association Mountain Wilderness laments: "no rule regulates and guardianship who has snowmobiles. Even though one considers the presence on the Italian mountains of at least 40mila vehicles to motor the Italian Code of the road ignores them. There are fifteen years that we speed up the Parliament to insert into the Code of the Road this vehicle”.
Without this passage, it is not possible for the authorities to impose any type of prohibition or regulation of the use.
